Timeline for Global Science Final Project
(REMEMBER TO WRITE YOUR PROGRESS REPORT AT THE END OF EACH BLOCK)

Day 1
(May 21st)
|
- Brainstorm about topic
- Choose topic & get approved by Mrs. Thomas
- Start planning how you will carry out the project

Day 2
(May 22-23)
|
- Begin research – each group member should find articles on topic
- Continue to focus topic – how does it relate to school/community?
- Create a task list – assign portions of project to group members
|
|
|
Day 3
(May 24th)
|
- Continue research – minimum of 10 sources required.
- Topic should be very clear. Write out the specific topic and how you plan to address each of the 3 major components of the project.
- Additional information sources: interviews, surveys, news, video.
- Make a list of equipment/resources your group will need.

Day 4
(May 25th/ 29th)
|
- Research should be complete, summarized, and ready to incorporate into your presentation. It should also inform your observations.
- Distribute surveys, conduct interviews, schedule meetings.
- Discuss service learning & public education portion of project.

Day 5
(May 30th)
|
- Analyze information – data, surveys, etc…
- Construct visuals - tables, charts, etc.
- Shoot video/take pictures/web page design
- Plan/create public education piece.

(May31st/
June 1st)
|
- Continue to shoot video, edit video, take pictures, design visuals.
- Plan/create public education piece.
- Work on logistics – planning interviews, footage needed, etc

Day 7
(June 4th )
|
- Review your thesis and mission. Make sure you are developing clear answers to your research question.
- Continue to create audio/visual (media) portion of presentation.
- Work on group logistics – what still needs to be done, who will do what job?

Day 8
(June 5th-6th)
|
- Public Education Piece completed
- All resources evaluated – Bibliography created.
- Continue working on presentation

Day 9
(June 7th/8th)
|
- Finish editing presentation
- Practice Presentation
|

Day 10

|
FINAL PRESENTATION DUE
· Block 2 – Tuesday, June 12th (9:45-11:20)
